Students with less than one year work experience in a paraprofessional, professional, technical, or supervisory position that involves relevant service to the profession and/or public service are required to complete PA 6694 Internship, for an additional three credit hours to the 36-hour program. The Internship cannot be used to satisfy an elective or core course requirement.

Candidates for admission must have a baccalaureate degree in any subject area from a regionally accredited college or university.

A letter of recommendation that addresses the applicant’s potential for success in professional graduate studies and public service;

A 500 word essay addressing the applicant’s professional goals, readiness, and potential for completing the MPA program; and,

UIU’s Online Program offers asynchronous courses so that you can attend class anytime during the day or night. You will actively and substantively participate in discussions on course topics that enhance your learning. The Online Program offers six eight-week terms each year so that you never need to wait more than two months to start classes.

The Government Administration track is the only track that can be completed entirely online. Students must have a minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA. Both GMAT and GRE tests are accepted. For consideration, students must obtain a minimum 450 on the GMAT or 960 on the GRE. A small number of students who do not meet the minimum requirements may be considered for provisional admission to the program.

Students must submit a current resume. Students must submit at least two, with no more than three letters of recommendation from professional sources such as current for former employers, faculty, or business associates.
